Red, green, blue, purple and yellow markings are canon representations of the Lizardmen Gods (who have been mostly forgotten aside from Sotek these days), and Saurus slowly turn albino the older they get so white skin is no issue either. But I'm trying to thing of a color scheme. I've seen some cool green Lizardmen in the past, but the blue looks cool too. I'm kinda leaning towards Necron Abyss base, Mordian blue for the first highlight and Ultramarine blue for the most prominent areas for the actual scales, but I'm at a loss for the actual skin.

Re: Lizardmen paint schemes. The only limit to the colour scheme you use on your models is your imagination. Lizards can be blue, but they can be green and black as well. Don't worry so much about what you think others will think about your scheme. Look into the sacred spawning colours as well.

Next I spray primed the model. But you can prime your models with a brush, like the RGG brush size 2. However I prefer to spray prime wherever possible as it is far speedier and easier. And I would recommend a gray or white primer for bold color schemes, like blue skin. On a lizardman, there is a lot of color!

I like that idea. In general I like the idea of crazy paint schemes. But with the Lizardmen it makes a certain sense because there is such an amazing array of colors in the reptile family. The problem is balancing the look that you want with the time that you want to spend painting a unit of saurus.

Orange was used as A base scale colour, with white begin used more in Important figures in the army having more white, like white crests on a skink champion, and the Slann was almost completely white. looked really cool! I think I saw that too. Was that the army which was kinda mutated (because of the Skaven )?

#1 · May 13, 2011 (Edited) im starting up a lizardmen army and i dont want to paint them the usual blue and i think it would be too simple making them green. i was thinking about red, but i dont know what paints to use to acheive it? i dont want anything too detailed, just some simple paints to get the appearance i want.
